Hi there! We're so glad you've reached our site to learn all about Highland Park Community Development Association and the wonderful programs that we offer. These three endeavors seek to enrich and empower the lives of those they serve and restore dignity and hope back into their lives.

Precious Beginnings is a childcare and learning facility open Monday thru Friday from 7 AM-6 PM.
We strive to provide your children with a safe, affordable, Kindergarten ready, friendly, and a nurturing atmosphere in which they can learn and grow.
Precious Beginnings After-Care serves primarily Des Moines Public School elementary children from Findley, Madison, and Oak Park Schools. Transportation is provided from these schools to our site. Special support emphasis during the school year is placed on math-enrichment and STEM and arts/crafts activities on a daily basis.
Our Permanent Supportive Rental Housing works to stabilize parents and their children for a 2 to 3 year period of time. During this time financial budgeting and counseling is done and mental health and addiction supportive services are offered. Our 3 bedroom/2 bath homes rent for $775 a month and our 4 bedroom and larger homes rent for $1,000.
Our Mission
Highland Park Community Development Association, Inc.'s mission is to empower and create independence in the lives of low-income individuals and families on the north side of Des Moines, Iowa. This is primarily accomplished through activities of economic enrichment, educational support, Kindergarten ready childcare services, and affordable housing options. The impact and end result of all this work is the restoration of dignity and worth in the lives of the poor.
